  • Introduction

The stray dogs and cats are assigned to the group of invasive mammals which can increase the risk in the natural and anthropogenic ecosystems (Dgebuadze, 2006; Bobrov et al., 2008; Khlyap et al., 2010). These domestic carnivores are widely distributed in all the towns and villages in the Republic of Azerbaijan. They inhabit the streets and have the access to human dwellings, private farms, and farm enterprises; the ground area is constantly contaminated by their feces containing helminth eggs. In addition to the fact that the domestic carnivores can serve as the major hosts of some helminths pathogenic to humans and pets, they are the transmitters of these helminths.
